Airbus in Mobile prepares for another round of hiring

By the end of 2017, the company plans to be producing four planes a month.

As Airbus U.S. in Mobile prepares to ramp up production, officials announced Wednesday that they are looking to hire more employees.

Airbus U.S. is partnering with AIDT during this hiring phase and they plan to offer on-site training. The open positions are hourly manufacturing jobs and include: Aircraft Mechanics Structure Installation, Installers, for Aircraft Cabin Interiors and Aircraft Electrical Installers.

Officials say the additional employees are needed as Airbus in Mobile gets ready to nearly double production. By the end of 2017, the company plans to be producing four planes a month.

"We are also really excited because are looking for candidates that don't necessarily have aviation experience, so we are able to open it up to a broader group of folks," said Stephanie Burt with Airbus U.S. Human Resources.
