16-year-old girl killed in two-vehicle crash

A 16-year-old girl was critically injured when the Toyota 4-Runner in which she was a passenger ran off the roadway, struck a median cable and overturned several times.

The crash happened Thursday, March 16. The teen was from Jacksonville, Fla.

The girl was not wearing a seat belt at the time the accident occurred and was transported to USA Hospital in Mobile, Ala. where she died Friday, March 17.

The driver of the 4-Runner was also injured and transported to USA Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the second vehicle, whose vehicle was damaged by a tire from the 4-Runner, was not injured. The crash occurred at 7:15 a.m. on Interstate 10 at the four mile marker, 15 miles west of Mobile.
