MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) - With the school back in session, your child now spends as much time in school as they do at home.

And you want to know they're protected when they are out of your sight.

Mobile County Public Schools are doing their part in making sure your kids are safe the entire school year with security cams on every campus and school bus.

There are also several school resource officers and security officers throughout the district.

The county is split up into 12 feeder patterns, which includes a high school and all elementary and middle schools that feed in to that specific area, with one school resource officer assigned for every feeder pattern.

The school district also has plans in place for different situations like tornadoes, fires, or intruders. And Superintendent Martha Peek says each school will go over those plans these first couple of weeks.
