It’s time to cruise the coast!

Let’s head to Dauphin Island where there are a Trifecta of events going on this weekend. Saturday, the art trial leads to all island treasures such as pottery, photography, painting and much more. Also, brought to you by the Mobile Bar Foundation, take part in Tri the Gulf. It is a sprint Triathlon with a 600-yard Gulf swim, 13.3-mile island/ bridge bike, and a 3.1-mile island run. It starts at Isle Dauphine Golf Club. The first 300 folks get an official race t-shirt and finish line goodies. Wrap up the weekend with a sunset concert on the island. The Mobile Big Band Society performs at 4 on the West end beach. Admission is $10 per vehicle. Bring chairs and blankets along with you.

It’s time for the 4th annual Little Sisters of the Poor lawn party. It will be held on McGill Avenue Sunday from 10-4 P.M. Pelican 212, a family musical group featured on the Steve Harvey show will perform. The best food, games, arts and crafts and white elephant sale will all take place.

Purchase a Junior League of Mobile shopping card called the Blue Pass. It is part of a 10-day fundraiser to improve the lives of local kids. The Blue Pass card is good starting this Friday through next Sunday with more than 250 local merchants taking part. It will coast $30 with proceeds benefiting the health of local kids.

Barbecue shrimp, fried shrimp, lemon shrimp and coconut shrimp? You may even find Forrest Gump in Gulf Shores at the shrimp festival this weekend. It starts today and wraps up Sunday.

Head on over to Mississippi where the devil goes down to Georgia Friday night. Charlie Daniels will be playing his fiddle hot Friday at the IP Casino, Resort and Spa.

Styx takes the stage Friday at the Beau Rivage at 8 P.M.

Montgomery native Jamie Johnson will sing his biggest country hits on the coast as well. Johnson performs Saturday at the IP Casino, Resort and Spa at 8 P.M.
