It’s time to cruise the coast!
The 2nd annual free music fest, TenSixtyFive is this weekend in Downtown Mobile. Counting Crows is one of the headliners along with Dirty Heads, Trombone Shorty, Wet Willie, and Blind Melon just to name a few. These bands will play their big hits over the weekend. 1065 begins Friday and wraps up Sunday.
Thriller Nights of Lights will soon take over Hank Aaron Stadium. It’s similar to Christmas Nights of Lights, but Halloween-themed. Drive through with 26 minutes of music in your car syncing up with the lights display the entire time. Friday is the official opening and every night in October from 7-10 P.M. On Friday night’s they will have midnight madness.
Based on the true events that occurred on an oil rig right in our backyard in the Gulf of Mexico, the Deep Water Horizon movie opens this Friday. The movie chronicles the events that transpired on April 20, 2010.
The American Cancer Society Vintage Affair Gala takes place this evening at the Alabama Cruise Terminal. The late night party is on the terminal rooftop! Enjoy an evening filled with exquisite cuisine, fine wines and the sounds of the Crowned Jewelz band. Throw your money down on live and silent auctions including trips, estate jewelry and local art.
Now to the gridiron! Saturday at Ladd Peebles Stadium the South Alabama Jaguars take on a top 25 team, San Diego State. The Jags and Aztecs go head to head at 7 PM.
In Mississippi, the Monkees take the stage at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Saturday at 8 PM.
Chubby Checker and the Wildcats War play at the Beau Rivage Saturday while Art Garfunkel sings his classic hits at the IP Casino Resort and Spa Saturday evening.
